Everton vs Newcastle: Predicted Line-Up | DCL to start?

Will Dyche stick with his regular lineup for the visit of the Toon?

After another win on the road at the weekend, Everton now face a tricky home double over the course of four days, especially with their abysmal scoring record at Goodison Park.

So with Newcastle to play on Thursday and then Chelsea to come on Sunday, how will the Blues line-up and will Sean Dyche be rotating his squad at all?

Who’s Out?

The good news is that Dominic Calvert-Lewin is fit and available after overcoming a slight calf concern.

Amadou Onana has been described as “touch-and-go” for this one, so it’s more likely that he’ll return against Chelsea instead.

Andre Gomes played an hour for the under-21s in midweek as he steps up his recovery, but isn’t expected to feature here.

Dele is the only other player still unavailable.

Goalkeepers: Pickford, Virginia, Lonergan,

Defenders: Keane, Godfrey, Branthwaite, Tarkowski, Mykolenko, Coleman, Patterson, Young

Midfielders: Doucoure, Onana (DOUBT), Gueye, Garner, Onyango, Gomes (INJURED), Dele (INJURED)

Wingers: McNeil, Danjuma, Dobbin, Harrison

Attackers: Calvert-Lewin, Beto, Chermiti

Tactics and Formation

Mr Dyche doesn’t seem to be a big fan of squad rotation, so changes for this tie will likely be minimal.

DCL will likely take Beto’s place in order to lead the line.

Apart from that, the only other likely change is the perennial one: right. Ashley Young is still holding onto the shirt, but Nathan Patterson or Seamus Coleman could well come in for him either on Thursday or – if not – on Sunday.

Abdoulaye Doucoure and Jarrad Branthwaite are on four yellow cards for the season, so they’ll need to toe the line or risk being ruled out of Sunday’s game.
