The summer transfer window closed on Tuesday, August 31st with Everton adding only one more player on deadline day, with Salomon Rondon joining up with his former manager from Newcastle United and Dalian Professional Rafa Benitez at Goodison Park.
There’s been plenty of hand-wringing in the days since the closure of the window about Everton’s failure once again to sign fullback depth, particularly at the right back position where the Toffees have struggled for what feels like years now.
The Everton Women’s season also got underway over this last weekend, with an unfortunate 4-0 loss at home to Manchester City who looked every bit as dominating as their male counterparts.
In the latest episode of the School of Science podcast which was recorded before the game on Saturday, our women’s team correspondent Ian joined Geno to talk about how they thought the Blues did in the overall transfer window, and then also dug into the nine signings the women’s team made and how that should improve the Toffees and place them firmly in the Champions League qualification race.
