Everton have had an interesting week or so. They followed up the loss at Villa Park by being dumped out of the Carabao Cup at the Third Round stage by Championship opponents Queens Park Rangers. The Blues had their chances to win that game in the second half but eventually succumbed in the eighth round of the shootout.

With the newly-set foundations of the team tottering, Rafa Benitez would have been relieved to have bottom-club Norwich City visiting Goodison Park on Saturday and the Toffees were able to get back on track with a mostly-comfortable win.

The Toffees are back in action on Saturday playing the early game with a trip to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United. The Red Devils also lost to Aston Villa last weekend, and for long periods looked like they deserved to lose on Wednesday night against Villarreal in the Champions League but were able to pull out a late win thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo.

In the latest episode of the School of Science podcast, Calvin joined Geno to do detailed recaps of the loss against QPR and win against Norwich, before looking ahead to United on Saturday. They also discuss Richarlison’s recent comments about his future and the news that broke yesterday about midfielder Jean-Phillippe Gbamin’s brush with the authorities.
