LIVE BLOG

11:15pm

We’ll just hang around in case there’s some late drama. Remember, as long as the transfer sheet is in the FAs office before midnight, team’s still have a couple of hours to get themselves sorted.

In one word, how are we feeling tonight Blues?

11pm

There it is, right on the dot of 11 o’clock tonight.

10:30pm

Why do Everton not have money to spend? Simple.

10pm

Into the last hour now. Still all quiet.

8:45pm

Apparently Everton were in talks with Manchester United for midfielder Donny van de Beek on loan but looks like Ole Gunnar Solksjaer turned it down.

But, there’s also this - who knows what to believe any more?

8:20pm

Looks like this is the funeral for the faltering Luis Diaz and James Rodriguez to Porto talks.

8:15pm BST

Looks like the Andre Gomes loan to Benfica is not going to happen because he was to be the replacement after they sold young midfielder Gedson Fernandes, which is not happening either.

8:00pm BST

Going to report those immortal words - “It’s all gone a bit quiet now.”
Can only assume there’s going to be an insane flurry soon.

6:45pm BST

Done deal! Niels Nkounkou has gone to Standard Liege on loan for the season, no buyout options that we’ve heard.

6:05pm BST

FC Porto are sticking to their guns, no Luis Diaz and no James Rodriguez, it looks like.

6:00pm BST

Looks like Rondon will be confirmed sooner than later.

5:20pm BST

More bad news, especially for the American Blues contingent. Everton had been linked with young forward Matthew Hoppe, but looks like he’s gone elsewhere too.

5:10pm BST

Bad news folks, looks like Ainsley Maitland-Niles is not going to be joining Everton after all.

4:20pm BST

A SIGNING!! FROM NOWHERE THIS ONE!!

What a fun day to start a new job in PR, with fans ticked off that we aren’t signing enough players, good players, young players, or what have you.

3:30pm BST

Things seem to be chugging along in the background, but here’s a new one you might not have heard about yet - Andre Gomes going to Benfica on loan for the season.

3:15pm BST

With Jebbison off the board, looks like Salomon Rondon is going to be the only striker coming in.

3:00pm BST

Update on the Luis Diaz & James Rodriguez situation, it’s not looking good.

1:35pm BST

Quick Maitland-Niles update - Arsenal are okay to let him leave, but not on loan, only an outright purchase.

1:25pm BST

Everton’s on-loan goalie last season Robin Olsen is on his way back to England, but in the Championship this time with Sheffield United, who will be looking to replace Aaron Ramsdale.

12:00pm BST

Midday state of play update:

  • Moise Kean departure confirmed
  • Vlasic joins West Ham - with Everton getting a slice of the fee
  • Arsenal resisting Everton loan bid for Maitland-Niles
  • Talks continuing over deal for Rondon
  • Daniel Jebbison deal looks to be a non-starter.
  • No fresh updates on Luis Diaz/James Rodriguez swap.
  • All quiet on Nathan Patterson, too after £8 million plus bonus-related add-ons second bid was turned down yesterday.

11:15am BST

Everton will not be getting Sheffield United striker Daniel Jebbison either.

10:38am BST

Maitland-Niles to request Everton move

David Ornstein, another journalist with impeccable Arsenal connections, reports that Ainsley Maitland-Niles will ask if he be allowed to join Everton in a meeting with Mikel Arteta this afternoon.

10:00am BST

Maitland-Niles banished from first-team training

The Mirror’s John Cross, who has very good contacts at Arsenal, is reporting that Ainsley Maitland-Niles is not training with the senior squad after his move to Everton was blocked yesterday.

Will the Toffees return with another bid?

Timely reminder that it's 10 years to the day that Arteta cried to Kenwright to be allowed to leave for Arsenal!

9:50am BST

Everton have now confirmed Moise Kean’s departure to Juventus:

I have to admit I was excited about this deal when it was confirmed two years ago, it’s a real shame things haven’t worked out. I would not be surprised at all if he goes on to thrive back in Italy.

9:10am BST

West Ham have signed Nikola Vlasic from CSKA Moscow. Everton are believed to have inserted a sell-on clause in the deal that took Vlasic from the Toffees to CSKA, so they should be due some cash as part of this transfer.

Every little bit helps!

8:30am BST

Juventus have released the terms of the Kean deal, with the club paying a €7m loan fee split into instalments of €3m and €4m, with a transfer fee of €28m plus a potential €3m in bonuses, taking the total amount somewhere close to what Everton paid for him two years ago, if not slightly more.

Plus, by announcing the deal early it should hopefully give Everton time to bring in a replacement.

Time will tell...

8:15am BST

WE HAVE AN EARLY DONE DEAL! Moise Kean has left Everton. The Italy striker has returned to Juventus on a two-year loan, with the obligation to buy at the end of the term.

8am BST

Brew - check; laptop - check; let’s do this, COYB!

Welcome to RBM’s transfer deadline day live blog. Will it be a busy day for Everton? Expectations are pretty low, with the emphasis likely to be on outgoings.

However, Everton desperately need a right back, and more depth upfront, whether it’s in the form of an attacking midfielder, a wide forward or a striker, or a hybrid combination of all three.

Nathan Patterson, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Salomon Rondon, Matheus Nunes, Luis Diaz are all names to watch, and then there’s always the rabbits that pop out the hat with the minutes ticking down to 11pm tonight.

You never know...
