Everton have been drawn away against Queens Park Rangers in Round Three of the Carabao Cup. The Toffees’ route to Wembley will continue on either Tuesday September 21 or Wednesday September 22, when they travel to Loftus Road.

QPR currently sit in fifth place in the Championship with two wins and two draws managed by Mark Warburton. The Hoops continued their impressive start to the season on Tuesday with a 2-0 home win in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

The two sides last played each other in the 2014-15 season, with the Blues winning 3-1 at home and then 2-1 away. Everton have only previously played QPR once before in cups, with the Toffees winning 4-0 at home in the Third Round of the FA Cup in the 2013-14 edition of the tournament.

The Blues have never won this competition in their 141-year history, but have been beaten finalists twice, against Aston Villa in 1977 and to Liverpool in 1984. Their run in the tournament last season lasted until the quarterfinals, when they were comprehensively beaten 2-0 by Manchester United at Goodison Park.

The seven Premier League sides playing in Europe enter the competition in this round and there are some big clashes on tap the highlight of which is Manchester United taking on West Ham, with Chelsea against Aston Villa promising fireworks.
