Your daily dose of Everton news and rumours
Wednesday was a big news day for Everton with the appointment of Rafa Benitez as the new manager. Thursday was equally big, but for very different reasons.
It’s been years in the making, but Everton finally have a date they take over the Bramley-Moore Dock site to begin construction of their new stadium, and it’s in just over three weeks! [EFC]
Speaking of Benitez though, a couple of Everton’s players have been talking about him too.

Jordan Pickford, preparing for England’s Euro 2021 quarterfinal against Ukraine, said that Rafa had called him to wish him good luck. [EFC]

Denzel Dumfries’ pricetag has gone up after an excellent tournament on a personal level for the right back. [Corriere della Sport, via SportWitness]
Arsenal have been chasing after Brighton defender Ben White for some time now, but apparently Everton are trying to hijack that transfer for... £50+ million!!
Bet you didn’t think the Toffees had that kind of money to spend on a centrehalf. [Daily Mail]
There’s an excellent piece in the Athletic about the Hollywood-esque manner in which the Benitez signing was sealed and who all were involved (Hint: Alisher Usmanov played a big part).
Pickford is the flavour of the month among the media covering the Three Lions - here’s some wonderful stories about how he made his way to the highest levels of the game. [Chronicle]
And we end with the news that Marco Silva is back baby! He’s reunited his entire Everton coaching staff at Fulham in the Championship, looking to make a quick return to the Premier League. [Training Ground Guru]
What To Watch
