Your daily dose of Everton news and rumours
New Everton manager Rafa Benitez has held out the olive branch towards the Evertonians who are still unhappy with seeing him in charge at Goodison Park.
“We will be here working really hard for the team, for the club and then if we do well no one will be talking about what happened in the past.”
Benitez covered a lot of topics in his introductory press conference, including transfer market activity, his vision for the team, and much more. [RBM]
The manager admitted that he had envisioned being successful enough at the job to get a new contract and lead the club out at their new stadium at the Bramley-Moore Dock in the 2024-25 season. [Mirror]
"For sure no, when I decided to start talking I was convinced this was a great opportunity."

As with any new manager, there are always links to former players. One such is right winger Ayoze Perez who has mostly been disappointing since joining Leicester City two seasons ago. [Leicester Mercury]
Another player being linked is one who was actually signed by Benitez, shined under Maurizio Sarri and declined under Carlo Ancelotti. Kalidou Koulibaly is the player in question, and apparently Everton have made a €35m bid for the 30 year old defender. [Calciomercato]
Apparently that is still way off the €60m valuation that Napoli have on the centre half. [Football Italia]
PSV Eindhoven confirmed that they have not received a concrete offer for right back Denzel Dumfries as yet, but do expect to sell him this summer. [Voetbal International, via HITC]
