James Rodriguez marked his return from injury by putting the Blues ahead just before the hour, but Michy Batshuayi’s late goal forced Carlo Ancelotti’s men to settle for a point which keeps them eighth.
Matthew and Geno discussed the draw with the Eagles on the latest episode of SOS Radio, looking at how this was an improvement on recent home performances for Everton, whether Ancelotti made the wrong substitutes, and where it leaves the Toffees in their quest for European football.
They guys then previewed Everton’s next match; a trip to Graham Potter’s Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday, April 12.
The Seagulls have largely impressed with their football but have struggled for goals, and sit 16th having won just two of their 15 home league games this season.
So, are they a good team for Everton, who are far better away, to travel to? Should Ancelotti keep faith with the same team? And is this simply a must-win if they are to still harbour serious ambitions of European football?
