Everton made it five straight winless league games for the first time since December 2018 as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park on Friday.
The Blues were far better in this encounter than in their goalless stalemate at Brighton & Hove Albion last time out, but defensive errors cost them two shoddy goals and ultimately victory over Spurs, who sacked Jose Mourinho on Monday.
With Geno still away, Matthew discussed the draw with RBM’s Calvin on the latest episode of SOS Radio. Together, they looked at whether Michael Keane is capable of playing in a back three, how much of a difference Allan and James Rodriguez made, and whether this match rather summed up Everton’s season.
RBM’s Pat then joined the guys to discuss Saturday’s Everton USA Live event, which he was lucky enough to be a part of, and included interviews with Marcel Brands, Tim Howard, Abdoulaye Doucouré and more.
Calvin and Matthew then chatted about the shambolic European Super League which surfaced on Sunday, what it could mean for Everton going forward and the ramifications it would have on English and European football if it goes ahead.
They finished off by previewing Everton’s next game, away to Arsenal, one of the 12 sides set to join the league. Namely: what is now the point of this game?
