It was another up and down week for Everton, as they rather unsurprisingly lost to rampant Manchester City before an incredible win at Liverpool on Saturday; their first at Anfield since 1999.

The fantastic derby victory put Everton level on 40 points with their near neighbours, and keeps them well in the running for European qualification.

Geno and Matthew were joined by Pete Reynolds to discuss this week’s two games on the latest episode of SOS Radio, including whether Everton could have done more against City and how they saw off the Reds for the first derby win since 2010.

They also discussed Jordan Pickford’s exceptional performance against Liverpool, at a ground where he faced his fair share of demons previously for Everton, and the continued excellent run of form of Tom Davies in central midfield. Has he now nailed that third spot alongside Allan and Abdoulaye Doucouré as his own?

The guys finished off by previewing Everton’s next match; the visit of Southampton to Goodison Park next Monday. Do Allan and Dominic Calvert-Lewin come in the starting line-up if both are fit enough to do so? And how do Everton fix their wretched home form, not least against a side with one point from their last seven games?
