It was another week of highs and lows for Everton, as they edged past Spurs 5-4 in the FA Cup before falling to another home league defeat, this time against Fulham.
The Spurs win means the Blues will face Manchester City in next month’s quarter-finals, but the Fulham loss meant they missed the chance to go level on points with Liverpool, and are still without a home league win since mid-December.
Geno and Matthew discussed these two games on this week’s episode of SOS Radio, including what to like and not like about the frantic Tottenham win, what to really not like about the galling performance against Fulham, and whether we’re all just a bit burned out after so many Everton games lately.
They also previewed Wednesday’s league game against City, their third successive match at Goodison Park, as they take on the rampant league leaders who have won their last 16 matches in all competitions.
Carlo Ancelotti said in Tuesday’s pre-match press conference that Dominic Calvert-Lewin is unavailable - is it time for Joshua King to start? Allan and Jordan Pickford should be back - do they come straight back in? And should we feel weirdly more confident about playing City than Fulham?
