Who was your Everton Man of the Match in the game against Tottenham? Grade the players and manager on how they did.

The fans wanted to see some signs of life from the players, and got the effort today. Goodison Park was up for the duel against new manager Antonio Conte and made their feelings known throughout the game.

It was the quality that was lacking on the pitch however, with both sides failing to do enough in the final third to merit a goal. However, referee Chris Kavanagh decided he wanted to be the centre of attention in this game with two very controversial decisions, first overruling his own decision to give Richarlison a penalty after being fouled by Hugo Lloris, but then deciding that the goalie did touch the ball despite there being almost no video evidence to defend that viewpoint.

Then late on, he gave Mason Holgate a straight red after a VAR review for dangerous play, despite the Everton player clearly playing the ball and Hojbjerg sliding in for a challenge with nothing or nowhere for Holgate to go.
