Everton progressed to the fifth round of the FA Cup on Sunday, as they comfortably saw off Sheffield Wednesday in a 3-0 victory at Goodison Park.
It is the first time the Blues have reached this stage of the competition since 2016, when Roberto Martinez led them to the semi-finals.
Geno and Matthew discussed the win on this week’s episode of SOS Radio, along with RBM’s Tom Mallows. They also talked where to play the undroppable Ben Godfrey, the introductions of youngsters Thierry Small and Tyler Onyango, and how much more a professional job Everton put in than against Rotherham in the previous round.
They also dissected Jarrad Branthwaite’s slightly rash challenge for Blackburn on Sunday, as well as giving their thoughts on Ellis Simms’ loan move to Blackpool.
This week’s pod is rounded off by previews of Everton’s two home games this week - against Leicester on Wednesday, and then versus Newcastle United on Saturday.
Who should replace the suspended Abdoulaye Doucouré for the visit of the Foxes? How much confident should we feel about Wednesday’s game knowing Jamie Vardy won’t feature? And how embarrassing would it be not to see off Newcastle?
