Everton earned their first Premier League win of 2021 on Tuesday, as they battled to a commendable 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.
It means the Blues have won six away league matches so far this term, already more than they’ve managed in any campaign since 2013-14.
Geno and Matthew discussed the win on this week’s episode of SOS Radio, along with RBM’s Ian Decker. They also discussed the decision to postpone this weekend’s trip to Aston Villa due to the hosts’ COVID-19 outbreak, Jarrad Branthwaite’s loan to Blackburn Rovers and Joshua Zirkzee’s potential arrival at Goodison Park.
As RBM’s resident women’s team correspondent, Ian also chatted with us about how Everton’s ladies are getting on, in a season which has hit a bit of a slump after an electric start.
They rounded off by previewing Everton’s FA Cup fourth round tie at home to Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday, January 25 - though, that game may also be in doubt given Wednesday have suffered their own COVID-19 outbreak this week.
Ahead of crucial games against Leicester and Manchester United, should Carlo Ancelotti shuffle his pack? Does Allan go straight back into the side if fit again? And what lessons need to be learnt from Everton’s sub-par performance against Rotherham?
