As one season ends, so another begins. Just seven weeks after that dismal final-day defeat to Bournemouth, Everton will kick off their new campaign at Tottenham, with a revamped midfield and renewed hope under Carlo Ancelotti.

This week on School of Science Radio, Geno and Matthew previewed 2020-21 for Everton with freelance football journalist Richard Buxton. They discussed this week’s signings of Allan, James Rodriguez and Abdoulaye Doucouré, talking points from pre-season, who this might be a make-or-break campaign for, and much more.

They later looked ahead to the trip to Spurs, including their thoughts on José Mourinho’s side, how Ancelotti might set Everton for the opening game and whether a draw against a side the Blues have not beaten since 2012 would be a decent result.
