School of Science Radio, Episode 48: Bournemouth Bruising & Baines Bows Out

Geno and Matthew are joined by RBM’s Pete Reynolds and The Sportsman’s Ell Bretland to discuss the season’s conclusion and more

A miserable campaign for Everton finally reached its merciful conclusion on Sunday, as the Blues went down 3-1 at home to Bournemouth, who were relegated despite their victory.

Geno and Matthew were joined by Ell Bretland, senior staff writer at The Sportsman, and RBM’s own Pete Reynolds to discuss the final-day defeat, and to lavish praise on Leighton Baines, who announced his retirement after the game.

The guys also mull over whether Everton are misusing their under-23s side, following on from an article Pete penned for the site last week, and what the club can do to break the vicious cycle they seem stuck in, as discussed by Ell in an article for ToffeeWeb recently.

We round off by giving our final thoughts and highlights of one long, hard slog of a campaign, as well as sharing our hopes and dreams for next term.
