Player Ratings vs Leicester 07/01

Richarlison 8
Did well to get on the score sheet. Perfectly timed run into the box to meet Gordon's cross. Rocket of a shot. Worked hard tracking back and helping in the midfield. Losing him in the second to an ankle injury really showed how key of a piece he is to this team on the offensive side of the ball.

DCL 7
Another game where he was lively, making active runs, and providing an outlet late in the game when Everton were pinned in. Had a good interchange with Iwobi that almost led to a scoring opportunity.

Gordon 8
What a game for the youngster. Wonderful delivery to set up the first goal. Was a threat going forward all game long. Amongst many beautiful passes, played a perfect ball into space for DCL to run on to.

Gomes 8
Such a smart player. Can move the ball around and dictate tempo. Can break up the counter attack, play balls into space, and most importantly, knows when to take a strategic foul. Love having him back in the team.

Gylfi 6
Not a bad penalty. Waited for Schmeichel to move and put the ball straight down the middle. Wasn't overly impressed with the Icelandic int'l, but he allows the team to play a possession-oriented game, working the ball out of the back.

Iwobi 5
A very inconsistent game from Iwobi. Made several strong runs but was unable to get past Chilwell. Had a good exchange with DCL, but the final pass was off, which is how much of his play has been. Makes good runs, but the final touch is usually just a bit off.

Digne 7
Even with the uncertainty of whether Baines will stay after this season, and Everton being linked with Kurzawa, Digne should be the Blues' first choice left back next season. Played the header to Gordon that set up the first goal. Was good defensively and delivering set pieces today.

Holgate 7
Holgate has established himself as one of the rising defenders in the Premier League as of late. Strong on the ball and quick to stomp out opposition attacks. Felt he was unlucky in the goal. Went for a clearance, but the ball ricocheted off Ihenacho and into the back of the net.

Keane 8
Man of the match for me. Won the penalty, and made several key blocks. He was composed, as evidenced by his game-leading 12 clearances. Has settled into life at Everton and under Ancelotti.

Coleman 7
Solid as ever for the club captain. Did well to defend players like Chilwell and Grey on the wings.

Pickford 6
He looked like the England number one in the first half. He was good off his line and made an excellent save on Jonny Evans, but struggled in the second half. Let the ball roll through his hands almost casing an own goal. Was caught out on several crosses, most notably one that led to an Ihenacho chance. Poor distribution in the second half. If only he could stay consistent...

Davies 6 (57 minute substitute)
Maybe coming off the bench to close out games can be a legitimate role for Davies moving forward. While he shouldn't be starting, he looked good in stoppage time maintaining possession and dribbling past several players going forward.

Mina 6 (67 minute substitute)
Wasn't asked to do too much, but helped see out the game and preserve the three points. Nice to see him back and fit for the Toffees.

Bernard 5 (78 minute substitute)
Didn't make much happen. Couldn't help the team going forward or defending.

*Best moment of the match was when the camera caught Baines playing with his nose near the end of the game!*
