After a three-month absence enforced by the coronavirus pandemic, the Premier League returns this week, with Everton resuming their own season with the small matter of the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park on June 21.
And also returning is our podcast, School of Science Radio, as new co-host Matthew joins Geno to chat about all things Everton before the big return.
They talk about how they’ve coped personally during lockdown, how well Everton have presented themselves during this entire crisis, the new kit deals, and the futures of Leighton Baines, Morgan Schneiderlin, Djibril Sidibé and the club’s three other out-of-contract senior players.
Then attention turns to the big restart on June 17 - after 16 positive tests from eight rounds of testing, could the Premier League have conceivably hoped for a better return? What can we take from the Bundesliga’s return? Should we give crowd noise and cut-out fans a try? Is home advantage wiped out now with empty stadiums?
And with Everton 12th in a congested Premier League, what is a realistic target with nine games to go and a host of injuries to key players?
