So more details are slowly emerging, the biggest being that Everton did not take a transfer fee for Sandro Ramirez just to get him (and his ) off the books.
11:30 PM BST
So six incomings this season, three of them absolute world-class and another three to build out depth in the squad, with youngsters Nkounkou and Godfrey full of promise.
Carlo Ancelotti wants to work with a squad of no more than 25, including goalkeepers.
— Phil Kirkbride (@philkecho) October 5, 2020
Currently working with 29. Walcott's departure to Southampton brings that down to 28. Everton still trying to move three more out.
The addition of a goalkeeper would require one to leave
Olsen in likely means one of Lossl or Virginia is on their way out, and Sandro gone makes it 27. Yannick Bolasie and Muhamed Besic remain the most likely to go out after that, with the domestic window with EFL clubs still open until October 16th.
11:15 PM BST
Everton have now also confirmed that the Olsen deal is done.
| We have completed the signing of goalkeeper Robin Olsen on a season-long loan from AS Roma.

Welcome, Robin! #EFC
11:10 PM BST
Sandro Ramirez is finally gone! We’d heard that Everton were debating buying out his contract with one year left, but now it appears Spanish side Huesca have agreed to a transfer with the Blues.

¡Sandro llega a la SD Huesca!
El delantero firma tres temporadas, aportando su amplia trayectoria tanto nacional como internacional.

11:00 PM BST
So that’s the deadline then. Still no confirmation that Olsen has been completed, but teams do have two hours to complete the paperwork if offer sheets have been submitted before the clock struck eleven.
10:35 PM BST
Walcott to Southampton confirmed.

10:00 PM BST
So, one hour to go. Expecting the Walcott news to be confirmed any minute now, and same for Olsen being confirmed.
Quite a bit of Twitter chatter on if Olsen can replace Pickford, and I couldn’t put it more succinctly that this.
Worth just reiterating as well, Olsen isn't being brought in to replace Pickford, just add competition and experience. #EFC

9:15 PM BST
Will add here that it’s looking Bernard will be staying after all, with the Italian window now closed and therefore Roma’s business complete. Olsen still expected to be completed though before the deadline.
8:30 PM BST
It’s all gone a bit quiet on the Everton front. We know Godfrey is done, and Walcott on loan to Southampton is all but done.
Paul Joyce has retweeted an Italian journalist who also indicates that Olsen is done, which is a bit of a surprise really. Click below to read the Q&A we did with our Roma counterpart blog about Olsen.
7:15 PM BST
Less than four hours to go before the international and Premier League part of the window closes.
It’s looking like the Robin Olsen loan is going to end up happening. From a brief chat we had with Chiesa Di Totti, the SB Nation Roma blog, we shouldn’t hold too much expectation that he will actually challenge Jordan Pickford, and that Olsen is marginally better than their other backup goalie Pau Lopez, but they’re both sub-par overall.
7:00 PM BST
The Joyce is saying that Olsen is coming closer to fruition. We’ll have more for you on the Roma player in a bit.

6:35 PM BST
Like many of you on Twitter and here on the site, we are a bit concerned with the forward depth situation if both Walcott and Bernard leave and no one comes in. There has been some insider chatter that the club is comfortable with Ellis Simms being brought up as needed for the striker role, but he is completely untested at this level.

Twitter’s Fourth Official seems to indicate that Besic to Rangers is happening as previously mentioned.

5:45 PM BST
Paul Joyce confirming that Everton have moved on from Gazzaniga and Romero, and are now negotiating with Roma over Olsen, and not Pau Lopez (as initially reported by Italian media).
Everton have held talks with AS Roma over Swedish goalkeeper Robin Olsen, 30. Interest in Man United's Sergio Romero and Tottenham's Paulo Gazzaniga proving difficult. Both PL clubs are seeking permanent deals rather than loans as they now see Everton as a rival.
— paul joyce (@_pauljoyce) October 5, 2020
Also Fikayo Tomori might be available again with Anton Rudiger not leaving Chelsea, has the Everton ship sailed? Bringing him in on loan will allow Ancelotti to send Branthwaite out on loan.
Knock on of Rudiger seemingly staying is that Fikayo Tomori may be allowed out on loan. Not certain and Everton seems to be gone, but one to watch...

Okay, that’s one of three strikers linked now gone - Fernando Llorente will be joining Sampdoria. Milik and Josh King still out there.

Roma have been very active in this window - former Everton target Justin Kluivert is now headed to RB Leipzig on loan.
4:30 PM BST
It appears AS Roma are interested in Bernard? More to come on this one [La Roma 24, via SportWitness]
More from Phil Kirkbride on this.
Bernard has trained at Finch Farm today, we're told. He was linked with a move to Roma earlier in the summer but rejected talk. Let's see.

4:00 PM BST
So, Gazzaniga it is then?
Paulo Gazzaniga most likely option for #EFC Everton more than any other club. Talks held with Spurs #THFC
— Mike McGrath (@mcgrathmike) October 5, 2020
By the way, it appears Werder Bremen have tired of former Everton midfielder Davy Klaassen as well, and he’s headed back to Ajax Amsterdam.
3:30 PM BST
Roy Hodgson seemed to indicate over the weekend that Wilfried Zaha has been told there will be no late moves for him.
Told that Wilfried Zaha is expected to stay at Crystal Palace after all barring a late bid from Atlético Madrid if they sell Thomas Partey to Arsenal. They would need to act fast however
— Ed Aarons (@ed_aarons) October 5, 2020
Also, is there a way out for Yannick Bolasie?
Told there is interest in Everton's Yannick Bolasie from clubs in Turkey #efc

Moise Kean completed his loan move to PSG yesterday, and here’s what he said about his new club -
“I am still young and continue to learn. There are some great players at Paris Saint-Germain, who are more experienced than me.
“When I will get my chance to play, I will give my all on the pitch. My ambition is to reach the highest level possible and to give everything for the team.”
Per the Echo, Kean remains a part of Everton’s future and there is no buyout clause for the player in his loan deal.
3:00 PM BST
Former Blue Gerard Deulofeu is in line for a loan to Udinese from Watford - considering both clubs are owned by the Pozzo family, we’d say that’s a done deal.
Also appears Walcott is on his way to Southampton for his medical.
#saintsfc Theo Walcott on his way to Staplewood for a medical right now

some fan negativity on here, which surprises me:
Yes, he has had injury issues but so have Djenepo, Redmond & Armstrong at times - as a four for Ralph to have cover and competition, it’s pretty good imho
2:30 PM BST
A Besic shout! Apparently Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers could be interested in him [Echo] - did Mo ever play against him? Roughed him up a bit, maybe?

Some chatter that Everton have inquired about both veteran goalkeepers Sergio Romero and Paulo Gazzaniga on loan, but both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are insisting on permanent deals.
Everton made contact over Sergio Romero [Man Utd] and/or Paulo Gazzaniga [Tottenham] as they look to bring in a goalkeeper to challenge Jordan Pickford. Everton prefer a loan move, but United and Spurs want permanent deals. Southampton confident on deal for Theo Walcott.
— paul joyce (@_pauljoyce) October 5, 2020
Again, it really does look like Everton are actively seeking out some competition for Jordan Pickford while Carlo Ancelotti continues to insist in public at least that the goalie will still come good.
1:15 PM BST
Everton still not being mentioned with King at all. Again, if he does not move abroad Everton will have until October 16th to get him signed, which is the domestic deadline.
Bournemouth have rejected a bid from Torino for striker Josh King.

The offer, made yesterday, did not meet their valuation for the Norwegian international. #AFCB

Something interesting in David Ornstein’s live blog on The Athletic about Everton streamlining their scouting operations in Europe at least. Remember, the Blues have been very active in the South American region in the last couple of years but now seem to be giving up on European operations.
Several employees have been asked to reapply for positions and that stretches as far as the senior scout Jamie Hoyland.
Everton’s recruitment lead in Italy, Carlo Jacomuzzi, was let go on Friday, which has surprised some in the industry as he is a highly-regarded talent spotter.
Their Portuguese scout Ricardo Figueiredo is another whose contract has not been renewed and he is actively seeking new opportunities. Figueiredo was initially brought in by former Everton manager Marco Silva.
Everton’s scout in Germany left before his deal ran out as he has a job offer from Monaco.
Those international scouts have not been given the chance to reapply for jobs after being released when their contracts expired at the end of September. However, they will be replaced in some capacity. A source told The Athletic the club would be working more with scouting staff in England after the restructure.
12:00 PM BST
AFC Bournemouth’s Josh King is a name that has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Moise Kean, but it appears the forward is looking towards further shores, and possibly a Champions League team - Sevilla, Torino and Fiorentina interested.
I've been told Torino, Sevilla and Fiorentina are in talks with Bournemouth over striker Josh King. Plus in story below, I reveal how move to #MUFC fell through in January and why he turned down #NUFC earlier this summer: https://t.co/7Gm56cZppS

Ok here’s something now. Theo Walcott in line for a return to Southampton, with the two clubs splitting his wages. Everton will do anything right now to reduce their wage bill.
The chance of Theo Walcott moving to Southampton on loan seems to be increasing.
— Greg O'Keeffe (@GregOK) October 5, 2020
Suggestion is #Everton would still pay some of his wages.

Everton confirmed the signing of Norwich City defender Ben Godfrey nice and early on in the day.
✍️ | Ben Godfrey has signed for #EFC from Norwich City for an undisclosed fee, penning a five-year deal until the end of June 2025.
— Everton (@Everton) October 5, 2020
Welcome, @BenG0dfrey! #WelcomeGodfrey
Keep your eyes (and ears) peeled for the latest episode of the School of Science podcast where we talked to two people who have watched the progression of Godfrey’s career path, and I’ll tell you Blues, we have quite the player here.
As an Everton fan , today is not really a day you should be too excited about, with all the critical incoming deals seemingly done earlier in the window.
Would expect more outgoing activity today for sure, mostly some creatively-constructed loans to try get as much wages off the books as possible, along with some good gigs for youngsters to continue their development.
