Normally I introduce our weekly predictions piece with a short recap of what happened in Everton’s last match, then reveal the outcome of our predictions from the game.
But let’s be real. I don’t want to think about the Newcastle match. You don’t want to think about the Newcastle match. So let’s just get right to the results of our predictions and then move onto this week’s match against Watford, shall we?
Newcastle Predictions

Zach | Calvert-Lewin | Calvert-Lewin | Everton | 1-0 | 0 |
The final few minutes of the match were a whirlwind of emotions for obvious reasons, but also because it saw a huge shift in the winners of this week’s predictions. When stoppage time began, three writers looked set to have the final score correct.
After Newcastle’s first goal, a different three writers had the score correct.
After Newcastle’s second goal, Brian F. and Matt A. had the outcome, but not the score correct. Big changes in little time!
Somewhat surprisingly, no one had Moise Kean opening the scoring, nor as Everton’s man of the match.
The ultimate reduction in the number of points won by our writers this week meant not a ton changed in our standings.
2019-20 RBM Prediction League Table

The one notable change is that Brian F. has jumped past Rachel for second place, though both those writers and Matthew C. remain well within striking distance of the top spot.
That brings us to this week’s predictions, with Everton away to Watford. The Hornets have seen a huge change in fortunes under Nigel Pearson, and the Toffees do typically struggle away from Goodison Park.
As such, we don’t quite have the confidence you’d expect against a club in a relegation spot.

I’m the only writer with Watford taking all three points, while four writers have Everton taking all three. The majority votes goes to a draw, a reasonable prediction given the Toffee’s middling form away from Goodison Park.
Richarlison’s return from injury sees him take the top spot in the opening goalscorer category with five votes, though Dominic Calvert-Lewin is just behind him with four votes.
Dom remains the top choice for Everton man of the match though, accruing six votes. Mason Holgate is next with three.
