11:00PM WINDOW CLOSED

And that’s a wrap. Lossl was Everton’s final deal of the day. No late drama or excitement. The Toffees have decided to stick with what they have for the rest of the season.

10:20PM - Lossl loan confirmed

Everton have confirmed goalkeeper Jonas Lossl’s loan move back to Huddersfield

9:50PM -

That’s that then. Sky Sports Alan Irwin reports that Jonas Lossl is the only Everton deal outstanding on deadline day, with no buyers for Cuco Martina and Oumar Niasse.

8:42PM

Everton academy forward Kieran Phillips has joined Huddersfield’s development squad on loan for for the rest of the season.

8:32PM

The Everton Fan Services appeared to be hacked when they ‘announced’ an agreement had been reached with Gremio striker Everton Soares, with the tweet deleted minutes later.

An interview with the Brazilian has emerged though where he talks about a conversation he had with Carlo Ancelotti. One for the summer perhaps?

“He asked how I was doing, if I was interested in playing at the club. He is a great club, a great coach too, I would certainly learn a lot from him.”

7:41PM

Echo reporter Phil Kirkbride says it is a proposed loan for Lossl, though the deal is not done yet.

7:33PM

This has come out of nowhere, but isn’t exactly a great surprise. Jonas Lossl is set to rejoin Huddersfield, according to The Telegraph. Lossl hasn’t made a senior appearance since joining on a free transfer last summer.

6:32 PM

Heartbreak for Antonee Robinson, whose proposed move from Wigan to AC Milan has fallen through. The Toffees would have been due a sell-on fee as part of the deal that took him to the Latics last summer.

2:45PM

The Athletic reporting that Everton have rejected loan bid from Celtic for Anthony Gordon, a sign the youngster will get more first-team opportunities during the second half of the season?

1:50PM - Cuco on his way?

Football Insider is reporting that West Brom are a number of Championship clubs interested in signing Cuco Martina before tonight’s deadline. Everton have made it clear they are willing to let the former Southampton defender see out the final six months of his contract elsewhere.

1:15PM - GBMAIN SET TO FURTHER SURGERY

Some breaking news from Carlo’s presser, he says Jean-Philippe Gbamin will see a specialist to determine whether he requires further surgery on a thigh injury that could now keep him out for the rest of the season.

In better news, Ancelotti says Andre Gomes could make his first-team return against Arsenal on February 23, a remarkable recovery.

12:55 PM

Times journalist Jonathan Northcroft says Everton explored the possibility of signing Yannick Carrasco, but his huge wages and the lingering threat of FFP scuppered any chance of a deal.

12:50 PM

It’s all quiet on the Everton transfer front, are they working on any secret deals? Carlo Ancelott’s presser is just ten minutes away, we may hear some answers then. I also expect him to be asked about Jean-Philippe Gbamin’s fitness after he missed training this week.

10:50 AM

That last long. Sky Sports News reporter Peter Stevenson says that Burnley are NOT in for Oumar Niasse after all.

Sigh.

10:15AM

Sky Sports is reporting that Burnley are considering a loan move for Oumar Niasse. The Toffees striker is out of contract at the end of the season and the club are actively looking to move him on this window.

If he does go, would that free up funds for a deal elsewhere?

9:50AM

Some interesting news away from Everton, The Times is reporting that Tottenham have made a “breakthrough” in their attempts to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid.

Could that be the signing of the day?

9:00AM - BREAKING NEWS

Everton have moved early on deadline day as two youngsters head out on loan.

First, Morgan Feeney, as expected, has joined Tranmere on loan for the rest of the season. Meanwhile, fellow academy defender Lewis Gibson has signed a new two-and-a-half year deal before heading out on loan to Fleetwood.

Good luck, lads!

So here we are again, another transfer deadline day, another few hours of frenzied rumour and speculation.

Will Everton do any business?

They have been very quiet in the window so far, with only youngster Jarrad Branthwaite arriving from Carlisle.

It’s widely considered that we need a left-sided centre-back, central midfielder and right-sided winger. But the club also need to look for value in the market, something rarely found in January. It seems Marcel Brands has a few irons in the fire, but a lot will depend on outgoings. Sometimes just one deal can be the trigger for several transfers to follow.

Trimming the squad and reducing the wage bill looks to be the priority. That includes Cuco Martina and Oumar Niasse, who are out of contract at the end of the season. The club are keen to move them on but no-one has shown an interest so far. Then there is the apparent Barcelona bid for Richarlison, reported by Sky Sports News before being quickly slapped down by other sections of the media.

There is also the little matter of a Premier League football match to preview, with Carlo Ancelotti holding his news conference at 1pm to look ahead to tomorrow’s trip to Watford.

We will keep you updated with all the news and rumours throughout the day.
