After a disappointing draw away from Goodison Park against a beatable opponent, Everton returns home to take on another beatable team, Newcastle United.
The Magpies are coming off of a big win against Chelsea this weekend, but they remain a hit-and-miss team — one capable of drawing Rochdale one week and beating the London giants the next. The Toffees — and our writers — will surely hope to get the former, rather than the latter.
But before we get into those predictions, let’s review predictions from the draw against West Ham United over the weekend.

Only two writers picked up any points, as no one got the opening goalscorer or Everton man of the match (Mason Holgate) correct. As such, we didn’t see much movement in the prediction league standings.

Only Chris has Newcastle United taking all three points in this match, while Brian F. and Matt A. foresee a draw. The rest of our writers have Everton taking all three points in front of the Goodison faithful.
The continued absence of Richarlison due to injury has made Dominic Calvert-Lewin a popular man to open the scoring, leading the way with nine votes. Bernard, Miguel Almiron, and Yerry Mina all picked up one vote a piece.
The man of the match voting is a little more scattered, but Calvert-Lewin leads the way there as well. Mason Holgate, Jordan Pickford, and Tom Davies each got two votes a piece, with Bernard picking up the last spare vote.
