One in, one out for Everton today, then, as midfielder James McCarthy makes his expected move to the Blues’ opponents this Saturday, Crystal Palace.
Might we see a swap involving the same two clubs in the opposite direction tomorrow?
↩️ | Thank you for giving everything over the past six years - and good luck* with your new adventure at @CPFC, Jamesy!

*Just not on Saturday!

Another one in! Everton have made their sixth signing of the summer, loaning right-back Djibril Sidibé from AS Monaco on a season-long loan with an option to buy for about £13 million:

Bienvenue, Djibril! #EFC

Interesting one this. Fourth Official is a pretty reliable account and wouldn't be making up stuff out of thin air.
There had been some links to Morgan Sanson a few weeks ago too.

There's not going to be a late surprise move for David Neres either.
More David. ♥

More samba.
More party. #ExtendingNeres

There's more going on here for sure, with Tottenham Hotspur being mentioned as the other side.
Wilfried Zaha feels like he’s given his all to Palace and wants to play at so-called higher level. Respects everyone at Palace including fans players owners & manager. Didn’t want to ask to leave. Don’t rule out another club coming in for him. Palace won’t sell for less than £80m

Pretty much the end of the #FreeZouma movement, I guess.
As per reports from France, I'm told David Luiz refused to train with Chelsea today and wants to move to Arsenal. I don't think Arsenal have made a formal bid yet

The more things change the more they stay the same. Everton now can’t even get rid of Henry Onyekuru because of work permit issues.

Apart from all the craziness below, we're expecting some outgoing activity today too. Matthew Pennington could be headed to Hull City on loan, and we’d mentioned below that Palace could announce McCarthy too.
1:00pm BST
The Blues are also rumoured to be pushing for Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi if they can't get Zaha, or as well as?!
As per others, Everton £30m bid for Alex Iwobi rejected. Made to Arsenal today & knocked back. Expected to return with improved offer but likely need £40m+ to be accepted. 23yo not agitating but would go if deal agreed. #EFC interest recent & is in addition to Wilfied Zaha #CPFC

Manchester United have three defenders rendered extra with the Harry Maguire signing - Chris Smalling, Phil Jones & Marcos Rojo - all of whom we've been linked with before.
Well, apparently we're going into panic mode now.

The on-again, off-again Wilfried Zaha continues. There's two different sets of reports going around today, one that Everton have given up on their pursuit of the forward, and another that the Blues keep upping the sum they are willing to pay for him.
Truth? Who knows anymore.
From Sky Sports reporter David Craig: Crystal Palace rejected another Everton bid for Wilfried Zaha yesterday. Bid was £70m plus Cenk Tosun and James McCarthy. Palace want at least £80m

Crystal Palace are close to signing two midfielders, one of them being James McCarthy.
Double breakthrough for Crystal Palace with Victor Camarasa and James McCarthy due for medicals today. Camarasa will be on a season-long loan from Real Betis whilst McCarthy's move will see him join from Everton for £8.5m.

We've had quite a start to the day already and deadline day is not actually until tomorrow!
Everton still have some pressing needs, an experienced centreback, am incisive wide forward and possibly another midfielder.
We're also expecting Djibril Sidibe to be unveiled today as the backup right back.
