UPDATE - Ever-reliable Times journalist Paul Joyce says Zaha wants to move to Everton with the Toffees ready to pay a club-record fee. But that relies on Zaha pushing hard for a move and Palace changing their stance.
Everton’s hopes of signing Wilfried Zaha look to be over after Crystal Palace rejected their latest bid and demanded £100m for the Ivory Coast forward.
Guardian journalist Ed Aarons says the Eagles turned down an offer of £70m plus James McCarthy on a permanent deal and Cenk Tosun on loan.
With the London club now demanding £100m Aarons says the “deal is dead”.

Zaha is said to be furious with Palace after they promised to accept “reasonable offers” for him last summer. Reasonable is subjective of course and while this latest offer looks more than reasonable to me, Palace will argue that they don’t need to sell, he has plenty of time left on his contract, he’s a key player and they have little time to find a replacement.
Zaha himself is now said to be looking to push for a move to a club abroad, with the European transfer deadline not until the end of the month.
But what now for Everton? Do they edge closer to Palace’s asking price? Or Does Marcel Brands look further down his shortlist?
We will find out in the next 24 hours!
