Moise Kean shirt number revealed

Everton earlier today completed the signing of Italy international forward Moise Kean from Juventus.

The striker will wear the #27 shirt for the Toffees, having previously worn the #18 for the Serie A champions last season and the #9 for Hellas Verona on loan the season before,

The number has been previously worn by the following players during the Premier League era at Everton -

Nikola Vlasic (17/18), Tyias Browning (14/15 - 16/17), Apostolos Vellios (10/11 - 13/14), Lukas Jutkiewicz (09/10), Andy van der Meyde (05/06), Peter Clarke (99/00 - 03/04), David Carney (00/01), Richard Dunne (96/97 - 98/99).

There was an expectation that he would take the #9 striker’s shirt, but that might still be available for Dominic Calvert-Lewin now.

The last player to wear the #27 was Nikola Vlasic, who was sold this summer to CSKA Moscow after spending last season there on loan. Previous to him defender Tyias Browning wore the shirt, who was also sold this year to Guangzhou Evergrande in the Chinese Super League.
