There’s been a flurry of activity at Everton in the last 24 hours and now it’s looking like both Moise Kean and Jean-Philippe Gbamin will be announced over the weekend.
While we’ve all been waiting for the Italian striker to be announced, early today Sky Sports reported that Gbamin was actually undergoing his medical at Everton today. He was due back at Mainz’ training camp today after returning from his summer break following his exploits at the Africa Cup of Nations.

With the Kean deal taking its time to get settled, there have been concerns from many Blues that there might be a hitch in the negotiations, so it would have come as a great relief to many when the ever-reliable Paul Joyce tweeted late last night that the Kean deal was indeed complete.
Everton have finalised deal for Juventus’ Moise Kean subject to medical. Player due to arrive on Merseyside in next 24-hours. Fee is undisclosed but understood to be around £30m.— paul joyce (@_pauljoyce) August 1, 2019
Earlier in the week manager Marco Silva had said that he was hoping to have at least five more new faces in the squad before the transfer window closes next Thursday. With a defensive midfielder and striker settled, speculation has been that those positions will be finding a replacement for Kurt Zouma at centrehalf, a winger and a right back, possibly on loan.
This appeared to be confirmed a few minutes ago again by Joyce who reiterated the Gbamin news while specifically mentioning the centre back position.

Per media sources Everton haven’t completely given up on prying away Zouma from Chelsea, but have also asked about youngster Fikayo Tomori, as well as Diego Llorente (Real Sociedad) and Adama Soumaoro (LOSC Lille) among others.
