CONFIRMED: Sandro Ramirez goes out on loan

That happened quickly, but it’s no surprise

The mystery of why Sandro Ramirez has not been spotted at Finch Farm has been solved quite quickly. Just earlier today we’d heard that Real Valladolid were interested in the forward, and now Everton have confirmed that he has indeed joined the Spanish side on a season-long loan.

There is no additional detail right now whether the team that finished in 16th place last season in the La Liga have a clause in the loan deal to make the transfer permanent.

Sandro joined Everton from Malaga for £5.2m in the summer of 2017 and was regarded as a bit of a coup by Ronald Koeman and Steve Walsh at the time since the Barcelona product was being actively pursued by a number of clubs.

Unfortunately the former Spain U21 international and Barcelona youth product failed to settle, scoring just once in 16 appearances in all competitions. He spent the second half of the season on loan at Sevilla before returning to Merseyside in the summer.

The former Barcelona man then regularly featured in the preseason and there were no doubts about his attitude and work rate. Sadly, he just didn’t seem to have enough quality to succeed in the English game.

He moved back to La Liga on loan with Real Sociedad last season, but his misery continued as he endured another 27 appearances with no goals, and just the one assist.
