Everton will have one representative in the Africa Cup of Nations Final that takes place later tonight in Egypt.

Midfielder Idrissa Gueye will attempt to lead his Senegal side to their first ever continental triumph, while opponents Algeria have won the AFCON once before when they hosted the tournament in 1990.

There will be plenty of Premier League players as well as others familiar to Blues on both sides: Sadio Mane and Riyad Mahrez the more commonly known of them. The two sides have already met in the competition, with Algeria prevailing 1-0 in their Group C encounter.

The Lions of Teranga will miss defender Kalidou Koulibaly, after he received a contentious yellow card in the semi-final.

Remarkably, the two managers tonight, Djamel Belmadi and Aliou Cisse, were born just a day apart, grew up in the same small town near Paris, remain good friends and will now go up against each other in the AFCON final.
