Everton have today revealed their released list following the conclusion of the 2018-19 Premier League season, with the departures of Ashley Williams and Phil Jagielka confirmed.
Jagielka, 36, announced that his 12-year stay at Goodison Park would be coming to an end via his Instagram account on Tuesday, with Everton chairman Bill Kenwright calling the Blues captain one of the club’s ‘greatest ever servants’.
Williams, 34, leaves after three years on Merseyside, having not played for Everton since March 2018, and spent this campaign on loan at Championship side Stoke City.
Leighton Baines, whose contract also ends on June 30, is not included on the released list, and is expected to sign a one-year deal at Everton next week.
Also leaving the Toffees at the end of June are youngsters Harry Charsley, Boris Mathis, Mateusz Hewelt, Shayne Lavery, Jack Kiersey, Danny Bramall, Joe Hilton and Chris Renshaw. Of these players, only Charsley made a first-team appearance.
Under-23 striker Bassala Sambou has been offered a new deal, while Con Ouzounidis and Matty Foulds have both signed one-year extensions.
