After an incredible season when Ellis Simms banged in 37 goals in 29 youth level appearances, the youngster was awarded with his first professional contract with Everton and now will likely get a chance to play with the senior side this summer.

Targeted by Bayern Munich as well as a number of English league sides for loan deals, the Blues have been quick to ensure that they don’t let this incredible striking prospect out of their grasp.

Yesterday, The Mirror confirmed that the Toffees will ensure they keep Simms’ development in-house and will not loan him out this season. In addition, he will travel with the Blues contingent to Kenya for the Sportpesa Trophy game against Kariobangi Sharks next month.

Everton have used the previous two Sportpesa Trophy clashes against Kenyan side Gor Mahia to blood some youngsters, and it’ll be good to see Simms get his shot too.

In 2017 in the game held in Tanzania, Jonjoe Kenny, Callum Connolly, Ademola Lookman, Mateusz Hewelt and Kieran Dowell all played with the latter getting the game winner. The 2018 tie at Goodison Park saw Nathan Broadhead, Joao Virginia, Kyle John and Anthony Gordon get some game time.
