Several Blues were in action this past weekend on international duty. On Friday, Séamus Coleman played the full 90 in Republic of Ireland’s 1-1 draw to Denmark. On Saturday, Lucas Digne was subbed off after a rough first half in France’s 2-0 loss to Turkey while Gylfi Sigurdsson played the full game in Iceland’s 1-0 victory over Albania.
Yesterday, Jordan Pickford led England to a penalty shootout victory against Switzerland, saving one and scoring one (yes, you read that right) to secure a third place finish in the UEFA Nations League tournament; Michael Keane was an unused substitute in the win. In friendlies, Richarlison scored and assisted in Brazil’s 7-0 win over Honduras, while Yerry Mina played the full 90 in his Colombia return, a 3-0 win over Peru.
