Everton play Reading at home on Sunday afternoon, with the team looking to improve their form in hopes of winning their last two games of the season.

Manager Willie Kirk was impressed by the Toffees’ second half against league frontrunners Arsenal in their 2-1 defeat last Sunday, telling EvertonFC.com:

“In those 45 minutes we gave one of the best performances since I’ve been at the club. We won recently at West Ham without playing as well as we did today, so it’s all about getting the balance right with performances and results.”

Reading are in fifth place and are captained by England international Fara Williams, who has 9 league goals this season. The club also features former Evertonian Brooke Chaplen, who has 7 goals.

Everton Ladies have scored 11 league goals all season and their top goalscorer is Inessa Kaagman, who has 3 league goals to go along with 1 cup goal, scored against Reading in September. The Blues won their Continental Cup game against Reading 3-2, when Claudia Walker, who is currently on loan to Birmingham City, scored a brace.

The last time the two teams squared off in November, when Reading rallied to beat the Toffees 2-1.

Projected Lineup:

Defender Gabby George has not been in the lineup since her injury a few weeks ago during the Yeovil Town loss. Another noticeable omission is defender Georgia Brougham, who has not been in the lineup or on the bench in the last two games. Previous to that, she had started in all but one match.

Kirstie Levell; Danielle Turner, Siri Worm, Megan Finnigan, Taylor Hinds, Abbey-Leigh Stringer, Angharad James, Hannah Cain, Inessa Kaagman, Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah, Simone Magill

Projected score:

1-0, Everton
