Besiktas have added their name to the long list of potential suitors for Nikola Vlasic this summer, according to Fotospor in Turkey.

The Croatian international has spent the season on loan at CSKA Moscow after being told he didn’t have a place in Marco Silva’s squad last summer.

He has impressed during his time in Russia, bagging eight goals and six assists in 29 appearances to date. His form in the Champions League particularly caught the eye, with Vlasic scoring three times and assisting twice in six games in that competition and shining against the likes of Real Madrid.

His form has attracted attention from around Europe, with most feeling he is likely to leave Everton permanently come the summer.

And he may now have an option in Turkey, with Besiktas interested according to Fotospor and translated by Sport Witness.

The Turkish club currently have Shinji Kagawa on loan and were looking to make the move permanent but are reluctant to meet Borussia Dortmund’s asking price.

Initially, the Japanese star was set to cost €4 million, but that has increased to €9 million. Besiktas won’t pay that and Vlasic is a more realistic target for their budget.

Whether Everton would be willing to sell remains to be seen. Vlasic recently revealed that nobody from the club has been in contact with him about his future.

Yet, reports in the last few months have suggested that the Croatian, alongside Henry Onyekuru, will be a part of Silva’s squad next season after impressing on loan this year.

Vlasic’s current contract with the Blues runs out in 2022, so there is no need to sell, especially not for the low price that Besiktas seem to be willing to pay.
