Is Everton’s furious backpedalling a surefire sign that the leaked images are more than just design concepts?
In case you missed it yesterday, Everton fansite NSNO obtained and published some images that appear to be planning pictures of the proposed new stadium at Bramley-Docks.
Apparently according to the Echo those came from presentations stadium architect Dan Meis gave stakeholders and fan engagement sessions late last year. The paper went on to add that the club will be starting an investigation into the leak and how the information got out.
Are these images the latest indication of how Everton's new stadium will look? - https://t.co/l1HB1dbOvT pic.twitter.com/wsafdhCLtP

The piece in NSNO goes on to say that the stadium will open with a capacity of 52,000 seats. That number can be further upgraded to 65,000 62,000 at a later date. Meis has previously mentioned his admiration for the ‘Yellow Wall’ at Borussia Dortmund’s stadium, and the home end for the Blues appears to be based on similar concepts - a single tier stand to give the impression of a wall of supporters, with the option to convert a portion of it to safe standing areas.
Interestingly the Echo also adds that the images are not final since the club is only looking to submit a planning application in the latter half of this year.
Everton’s reaction does make it look like that there might be more truth to these leaked pictures than not. In the meantime, the Toffees remain starved of anything positive in their lives from the Blues and the images have certainly provided plenty of gossip fodder.
