Jordan Pickford yet to learn from prior mistakes

Jordan Pickford has not had the best of seasons so far for Everton, with has save percentage hardly better than average, his miscommunications with the backline an almost common occurrence now and his distribution also starting to become hit or miss, and more of the latter.

His mental lapses on the pitch have also been a problem, with the late error against Liverpool in the Anfield Derby last season gifting the hosts the win, then his loss of composure at Newcastle taunting fans coming back to bite the Blues in a 3-2 defeat among others.

So the last thing the player or Everton needed was this video surfacing of him last night after the 0-0 draw against Arsenal enjoying some time off.

The event is the Darts World Championship currently being held at Alexandra Palace in London, and the goalkeeper appears to be pounding a Jägerbomb (a shot of Jägermeister liquor dropped into an energy drink).

The poster of the video appears to insinuate that a shot was done every time someone hit a 180 (three triple-twenties), so that would have made for a very drunk evening for the player and his party.

Morality police be damned, surely there’s nothing wrong with going out and having fun after a game on his personal time off, especially with a busy schedule ahead.

At the same time, with the player’s personal form under the microscope should he be maintaining a lower profile especially with a new manager now at the helm at the Toffees? Considering he has been criticized for this in the past, especially when he got into a fight with a fan who stalked him and harassed his partner also captured on video last year.

Pickford is a public figure, should he be reining in the partying and being a little more aware of where he is seen?
