Last week was no fun.
Everton dropped a home match against then-bottom Norwich City, adding a new rock bottom to a season that’s been full of rock bottoms. Maybe it’ll at least be the last rock bottom?
*checks injury list*
Oh no, it can get worse.
The Toffees head to Leicester City this weekend with almost an entire lineup’s worth of players set to miss due to injury. The Foxes, if you haven’t been paying attention, are quite good this season.
As such, our writers aren’t feeling very optimistic, especially after being burned for their optimism last week.

Our writers earned one whole point last week, with Pete predicting Alex Iwobi would be named man of the match. It feels a little hollow to award a point for someone named man of the match in that match, but rules are rules.
No significant changes in the standings this week as a result.

There’s no real way to sugarcoat the task the Toffees face this weekend. Going to Leicester is always a tough ask, but with the injury situation the way that it is, an Everton victory might border on miraculous.
Our predictions then, are pretty pessimistic.

We’ve got just one optimist among us, though there are two draw predictions as well. Among those who have predicted a Leicester victory, there’s some genuine concern that this match could get ugly.
Of the nine writers who predicted a Leicester win, eight have the Foxes winning by multiple goals. Four writers have the Toffees losing 3-0.
Jamie Vardy is the runaway leader in the first scorer category, with Moise Kean, Yerry Mina, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and James Maddison also featuring.
