One of the themes of this Everton season has been the lack of continuity at striker. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison have been the main parties to participate up front, despite the Brazilian actually being a winger. Everton’s big winter signing from last season, Cenk Tosun, has seen his playing time dwindle to just 659 league minutes this year, during which he’s chipped in two goals.

It should be no surprise, then, that Tosun is beginning to look elsewhere in order to get the games that he needs. According to Turkish media, who we tend to trust in matters of Turkish players, Cenk is weighing an offer from Crystal Palace.

Roy Hodgson and his London club are in desperate need of additional attacking help. Palace often resort to using Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend up front, both of whom are decidedly not strikers. Christian Benteke has a permanent case of the yips, while Jordan Ayew and Connor Wickham are simply bad.

It’s unclear if this move would be a loan deal, or if Everton would have to take a loss on their January 2018 purchase. Either way, Tosun moving to Crystal Palace mostly makes sense for all parties. The Blues would have a clearer picture of their attacking options, Tosun would get to play, and Palace would have an immediate upgrade at striker.
