Everton summer signing suffers further injury setback

Yerry Mina will miss even more time now

It appears that selecting the #13 squad number isn’t quite working out so well for Yerry Mina now.

The defender signed by Everton on deadline day to close out the summer transfer window is yet to feature in a single game for the Blues since his move from Barcelona and has now picked up a new injury.

French sports daily L’Equipe reported late yesterday that the Colombian international has incurred a microfracture of the fourth metatarsal on his left foot, and will miss a minimum of three weeks.

With the next international break coming up in mid-October, this means that the earliest fans will see Mina in royal blue is the home game on Sunday 21st October against Crystal Palace.

While Everton’s situation at centrehalf is not as dire as it had been previously now that Michael Keane has returned from his head injury, it is certainly frustrating for both the club and the supporters not quite knowing what they have on their hands with Mina.
