Your daily dose of Everton news and rumours

Everton’s long-term plans were handed a major boost yesterday after the announcement of Jordan Pickford’s new six-year contract. While the terms weren’t announced, this will go a long way towards securing the Blues’ goal for the next few years while keeping rival hands off him. [RBM]

Interestingly, there’s also no release clause in his deal, which is a big deal because it means Everton will have to agree to sell him for any transfer to happen.

Pickford will be facing the media about his deal today at 2:15pm BST (9:15am EST), and you can watch it live here.

A couple of transfer rumours to whet your appetite, both involving a couple of young players.

Everton have been watching another Brazil international who made his debut start in the same game that Richarlison did. [RBM]

David Unsworth recently gave a 16-year-old defender his debut in the Under-23 side,a nd now Arsenal are sniffing around. [RBM]

This one is not a rumour, but more of an opinion, wherein the writer proposes that Everton should make a move for Mario Balotelli. Click bait if you ask me, but you be the judge. [Football FanCast]

Looking ahead to Saturday’s game, we spoke to the SBN Fulham blog ‘Cottagers Confidential’ yesterday.
