Everton looked better than they have in recent years at the Emirates yesterday, but the result remained the same, another loss. Marco Silva’s gameplan to attack the hosts by pressing them high seemed the right tactic, but his charges simply did not execute consistently enough, and didn’t put away a number of chances they had.

Silva commended the players for keeping on fighting right until the end. [EFC]

He also agreed that VAR would have had the second goal called back, and made for a different game. [Telegraph]

Believe it or not, despite the missed chances, the Blues actually had a pretty decent game. [RBM]
