Richarlison’s arrival on Goodison a few weeks ago kicked off the Toffees summer signings.

While there were initial concerns about the price paid for a player who struggled on the back end of the last season, the Brazilian winger has removed all questions about his value with sterling preseason performances.

Today. the former Watford man sat down for his first press conference as an Everton player and offered insights on everything from Marco Silva to Yerry Mina’s dancing skills.

On the manager he came to Goodison to reunite with, Marco Silva:

“I have always played well under Marco Silva and I intend to do it here at Everton.

“I think Silva is a great coach. They understand him. When I want more information, or want an explanation or something explaining, I go to his office and he tells me.”

The Brazilian also made clear that he expects himself and his new teammates to perform better than the Blues did last season, especially considering the history of Everton teams he has seen on TV:

“I remember my dad and uncle would always have the Premier Leauge games on on ESPN. My father told me it is very suited to my style. It is a dream to be playing here now.

“I think we should aim higher than last season. We should have a wonderful Premier League season achieving great things.”

No transfer window press conference would be complete without a player offering his thoughts on the possible incoming transfers, in this case Barcelona’s Yerry Mina and fellow Brazilian winger Bernard.

Richarlison noted that he and Mina are good friends from their time in Brazil, but that he couldn’t offer insight into his future.

“Yerry Mina? No, I don’t know anything. Yerry Mina ia great guy and great dancer. When he played for Palmieras, he used to dance and we became great pals off the pitch.”

I don’t speak to Yerry Mina every day but we speak like normal friends. I have not asked about his future plans that is for his people to discuss.”

Bernard, who just landed at the airport and is on his way to Finch Farm for his medical, is also a player who excites Richarlison:

“Bernard is a great player for the Brazil team. I have followed his progress with Atletico Mineiro. I don’t know much but if he is here, he would be a great addition. He is a great guy.”

Richarlison is winning over the fans already, especially after his first game at Goodison last weekend.

“I was really happy when I saw the little girl with the poster asking for my shirt at the Valencia game, I wanted to make sure she got it. I gave one to her and she was overjoyed.

“I think this is wonderful because when I was young, I was a big football fan. I wanted to get players’ shirts, their boots. So that’s something I always try to do - give them something to make them happy.

“I know my responsibilities. The fans will see the effort I’m putting in, giving my everything on a day-to-day basis. I intent to work hard, score goals, create assists and help the team in everything I do.

“I’m really happy to be here at this big club. It is a childhood dream to play in the Premier League. I’m going to give my all and do my best for Everton so we can achieve great things here.”

With the first match of the Premier League season upcoming, Toffees will definitely be hoping to see the famed pigeon dance!

“My dancing is good. I’m hoping to score my first goal and do the dance I promised – the pigeon dance - so I am looking forward to it.

“It’s good the fans are waiting for it!”
