Your daily dose of Everton news and rumours

What a day yesterday was, and we still have a couple more before transfer deadline day!

  • First it looked like Everton had basically signed Yerry Mina. [RBM]
  • He was even followed on social media by our new signing. [HITC]
  • Turns out it wasn’t as settled as we had first thought. [Liverpool Echo]
  • In fact, a third team was trying to muscle in too. [Goal]
  • Then it looked like other factors were in play. [Sky Sports]
  • But that fell through and now here’s a mess. [Sport (Eng)]

Whew.

  • Meanwhile, out of virtually nowhere, we have ourselves a second Brazilian winger! [RBM]
  • Looks like we might have found Yannick Bolasie a destination, albeit a familiar one. [RBM]
  • Is it time to move on to Plan B at the centreback position? [GFFN]
  • Also, good thing we stood firm on the only real superstar on this team. [RBM]
  • Interesting piece here on who will step up to become the Silva-era defining players. [Liverpool Echo]

What To Watch

Most teams are winding down their preseasons with the Premier League starting this coming weekend and the majority of the European leagues the week after.

It’s a busy day with Champions League qualifiers (Standard Liege vs Ajax Amsterdam and Benfica vs Fenerbahce are the pick of the bunch), and two games in the Championship as well (Nottingham Forest vs West Bromwich Albion’s new mascot ‘Boiler Man’ and Middlesbrough vs Sheffield United).
