Right at the end of the transfer window with minutes to go on deadline day, Everton added Kurt Zouma on loan from Chelsea to further bolster the central defence corps after signing Yerry Mina earlier from Barcelona.

The defender will wear the iconic #5 for Everton this season, a number that has been worn by some of the greatest players in the Blues history, and also by some of the most ignominious as well.

Ashley Williams (16/17 - 17/18), John Stones (15/16), Samuel Eto’o (14/15), Johnny Heitinga (09/10 - 13/14), Joleon Lescott (07/08 - 09/10), David Weir (00/01 - 05/06), Dave Watson (86/87 - 99/00), Gary Ablett (91/92), Martin Keown (89/90 - 90/91), Neil McDonald (89/90), Pat van den Hauwe (84/85 - 88/89), Ian Marshall (85/86 - 86/87), Derek Mountfield (83/84 - 86/87), Gary Stevens (85/86), Peter Billing (85/86), Ian Atkins (84/85), Mark Higgins (77/78 - 83/84), Billy Wright (77/78 - 82/83), Mick Lyons (79/80 - 81/82), Kevin Ratcliffe (80/81), Gary Stanley (80/81), Roger Kenyon (73/74 - 77/78), Terry Darracott (77/78), Ken McNaught (76/77)
