Everton are certainly taking their time making their signings official. Lucas Digne is finally a Toffee after his transfer was confirmed early this morning by the club.
The French fullback is the long-term future for the leftback position, an area of need for the Blues for the last couple of seasons and one which has been inadequately supported behind Leighton Baines for some time now.
Digne comes with great pedigree, having played for LOSC Lille in the early part of the decade alongside new teammate Idrissa Gueye, Eden Hazard, Dimitri Payet among others. He then moved to Paris St. Germain, AS Roma and Barcelona before making his way to Everton looking to regain his starting spot with Les Bleus after being dropped to standby for the World Cup-winning campaign this summer.
With this news, it’s likely young prospect Antonee Robinson will go out on loan with Bolton Wanderers keen on getting the player for the season once again.
