Everton reportedly reject bid from RB Leipzig for young star

Ade seems set to stay. Hands off!

One of Everton fans’ biggest hopes for Marco Silva is that he invests in the young players around Finch Farm, Ademola Lookman most of all. The youngster is a precocious talent, and was misused under Ronald Koeman and Sam Allardyce.

Lookman was granted a short-term loan to the Bundesliga, where he flourished for RB Leipzig. Ade contributed to 9 goals in just 11 matches for the German side, and Leipzig were said to be interested in a permanent move. The Mirror’s Adrian Kajumba reports that a bid has been lodged, and summarily rejected by Everton.

Yes, Royal Blue Mersey is certainly biased, but the rumored £12 million is insultingly low. Lookman might be a star in the making, and Leipzig would need to move heaven and earth to get Marco Silva to give up on him without so much as a chance in preseason.

If Everton did indeed receive and reject a bid, it’s good news - we’re one step closer to my dream of a Lookman/Sigurdsson/Walcott/Tosun attack on opening day.
