Your daily dose of Everton news and rumours

There was only one main talking point yesterday and it came late in the evening as England finally broke their World Cup penalty shootout hoodoo, beating Colombia 4-3.

  • Everton goalie Jordan Pickford was the hero, saving the last kick before former Blue Eric Dier dispatched the winner. [RBM]
  • One thing we’re learning about the young goalie is his supreme self-confidence. [RBM]
  • Also, apparently Liverpool spurned their chance to sign him two years before he joined the Toffees. [Mirror]

Coming back to Everton news, it was day two of preseason training.

  • Marco Silva took charge of his first training session, here’s some notes from the day. [RBM]
  • Mason Holgate will not be leaving the club this season, we learned. [RBM]

And then there’s the transfer rumours as well.
