It only took a couple of months since the transfer window opened, but Everton have finally made a signing. The Toffees today announced that Brazilian winger Richarlison has joined the Blues on a five-year contract from Watford FC.
The 21-year-old is familiar with Blues manager Marco Silva who was in charge of the Hornets for the first half of last season when he was brought in from Fluminense in Brazil and made an immediate impact, scoring five goals before the halfway point of the season.
The forward brings an immediate injection of skill and pace to the Everton forward corps that was seen to be slow and lumbering last season, and has struggled to make an offensive impact in this preseason, the 22-0 hiding of ATV Irdning notwithstanding.
Everton are still expected to bring in a few more players, with Silva saying last weekend that he expected the transfer activity to pick up this week, with the trigger pulled on a number of outgoing players and some more to come in as well.
