While RB Leipzig are not giving up in their relentless pursuit of Ademola Lookman, another Everton player could become the subject of Bundesliga attention in the coming days.

According to German outlet Kreiszeitung (via Football Oranje) say that Werder Bremen are looking to replace Thomas Delaney who left the club for Borussia Dortmund this summer.

The Dutch midfielder has had a torrid time of it at the Blues since a high profile transfer last summer for £23.6m from Ajax Amsterdam on a deal until 2022. He wasn’t able to crack the starting lineup with his countryman Ronald Koeman in charge and ended up relegated to the depths of the squad.

Under Sam Allardyce he made his way back but underwhelmed and hasn’t been in any kind of inspiring form for Marco Silva this preseason either. Director of Football has already indicated that Klaassen could be one of the players to make way as the Blues trim the squad.

Klaassen featured in 17 games for the Toffees last season, failing to register a goal and generally looked off the pace. He has been linked with a loan deal to Besiktas this transfer window as well.
