Everton continue pursuit of Richarlison

Marco Silva seems determined to reunite with Watford striker.

There are two things you can be certain of this offseason:

  1. Everton being linked with Watford players.
  2. Watford not wanting to do business with the Toffees.

After the Marco Silva debacle that stretched from October until....well...now..it was always unlikely that Hornets would be willing to do business with us.

That hasn’t seemed to deter our new manager Marco Silva, however, who is still harboring dreams of wrestling Richarlison away from the side he used to manage.

According to the Times, the Brazilian winger is hoping to reunite with Silva after failing to score or assist in 2018 once the Portuguese manager was sacked during the last campaign.

It’s incredibly difficult to see Watford parting with the 21-year old who showed so much promise, but it also appears that Silva and Brands aren’t going to take no for an answer, at least not until the window is officially shut.

It has to be assumed that once either Richarlison or Malcom are tied up that the club will end their pursuit of the other. With Theo Walcott, Ademola Lookman, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Oumar Niasse and Cenk Tosun in the mix, bringing in both Malcolm and Richarlison seems a bit far-fetched and doesn’t help declutter an already over packed squad.

While Richarlison showed promise last season, I am sure most Everton fans wouldn’t be upset to see the Toffees land the Bordeaux winger and not the Watford man.

Mostly though, we all just want the team to sign someone.

Soon.
