The Marco Silva era at Everton is underway

In all honesty, we have learned absolutely nothing about Everton today after that easy win against Austrian 5th Division side ATV Irdning, who are hosting the Blues in their preseason training camp up in the Austrian Alps.

The starting lineup also didn’t give us too many pointers really, with injuries keeping Theo Walcott, Beni Baningime, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Davy Klaassen, while Yannick Bolasie missed the game with an illness.

The Blues looked good both on and off the ball, passing well and moving into spaces all over the pitch, but considering the opposition, it really wasn’t saying much.

The halftime score was 10-0, excluding four disallowed goals as well. Cenk Tosun led the way with four, Ademola Lookman had three and Leighton Baines, Mason Holgate and Michael Keane split the others.

Lookman in particular looked very lively with a rejuvenated Baines stepping up at every opportunity. Kieran Dowell was excellent as the playmaker as well, easily controlling the game in front of him.

Silva kept only Dowell on for the second half, changing the rest of the side, but there was no let-up, with Kevin Mirallas scoring five goals in quick order.

Dowell eventually went off for Cuco Martina who made more of an attacking impact in the late stages of the whitewash.

Oumar Niasse grabbed four and Nikola Vlasic got in the act as well with a brace the Blues continuing to saunter, and even had time for an Irdning own goal with the final score 22-0.

Here are all twenty-two goals in a dozen or so minutes -
